Treatments & Programs: The Alvear Spa’s treatment menu encompasses facials, massages and body treatments, revitalizing, detoxifying and therapeutic programs, as well as an enticing selection of signature La Prairie spa treatments. The highlight is the Exclusive Radiant Treatment, developed by La Prairie exclusively for the Alvear Palace. Inspired by the Radiance Collection, this luscious facial will lighten, enhance, and lift, providing an illuminating texture while erasing years from those who experience it. There’s much more, with selections including a Parafango body treatment using volcanic mud and paraffin to counter water retention and cellulite. A Balneosel detoxifying program employs marine salts and the invigorating properties of eucalyptus oil blended in a healthy and rejuvenating bath. And the Alvear Golden Program promises recovery of lost vitality with the aid of natural products, skin hydration and a relaxation massage.

Spa Facilities: Italian “Bizazza” marble tiles create focal points throughout the 8,600 square-foot Alvear Spa, opened in 2008. The floors of are made of Botticino, gold calacatta and yellow Valence marble. The reception area is crowned with a trompe l’oiel oil painting as well as classic and contemporary French-style furniture. The spa features five treatment rooms, a wellness area and fitness area. There is also a beauty salon offering hairstyling, manicure and pedicure services. Water is an integral part of the Alvear Spa’s design and concept. Along with steam baths and hydro-massage showers, the spa’s stainless steel Ludic “vitality” swimming pool percolates with ozonated bubbles which help detoxify the body and encourage relaxation. There are also two “water sensation” paths, each of different temperatures, intended for therapeutic stimulation as guests walk upon water-washed stones that increase leg circulation and positively affect the lymphatic system. Surrounded by mahogany walls and indigenous lapacho wood flooring, the Alvear Spa’s Fitness Center’s Italian-designed Technogym equipment is arranged before diverting television screens, while the Kinesis system, unique in Latin America, offers training with cable-stretching systems enabling unrestricted, gentle motion reflective of the body’s natural movements. Each area of the Fitness Center is serviced by specially trained staff, who are available for aid and encouragement alike. The Alvear Spa & Fitness Center offers specialty prepared menus from the hotel’s chef, in addition to fresh fruit and exclusive tea blends – including the exclusive Alvear Tea Blend – served within.
