Spa & International Medical Spa Associations Under New Leadership of Allan
Share Hannelore Leavy,
founder of the DSA and IMSA as well as the current Executive Director, will stay
on as Chair of the Advisory Board Union City, NJ
- August 3, 2010 - The Day Spa Association and The International Medical Spa Association
announced the sale of their combined associations to DSA World, Inc, headed by
Allan Share, an acknowledged leader in the spa industry for over 20 years. Mr.
Share is very excited for the future of these two important associations. As the
new DSA and IMSA president, his plans call for continued support and growth of
the spa industry as well as expanding the associations to include wellness practitioners
of every kind. Allan Share notes, “Consumers are asking
our industry to change and to see wellness as an essential part of spa and beauty.
Hannelore Leavy has done more than almost any other individual to shape the course
of our industry. Our vision is to build upon that legacy. Our goal is to make
the DSA and IMSA the leading trade associations in the professional spa, aesthetics
and wellness industries. We will bring together the dispirit parts of our industries
by providing them with a one-stop-source for information, the place to learn about
allied professions and fields as well as an easy connection to other colleagues
in the U.S. and around the world.” Hannelore Leavy, founder
of the DSA and IMSA as well as the current Executive Director, will stay on as
Chair of the Advisory Board. “I am pleased to be able to pass the helm to
someone who understands the vision behind the creation of these associations and
will continue expanding the impact the associations will have on our industry.
I am sure the industry will support DSA World and Allan Share’s efforts as
they have supported mine for the past 2½ decades,” said Hannelore
Leavy. Allan Share’s previous companies include New Life
Systems founded in 1990, and Lotus Touch, founded in 1999. Mr Share sold both
companies to Scrip Companies -- owners of Scrip/HESSCO, Massage Warehouse in 2007,
where he stayed for three years as Director of Spa Operations DSA
