NEW YORK--January 4, 2011 --Marketing executive Lisa Hagen joins Red Door Spas as Senior Vice President/Chief Marketing Officer as announced by Todd Walter, Chief Executive Officer of Red Door Spa Holdings. Hagen brings more than 25 years of management experience in the luxury, hospitality and retail industries to the venerable Elizabeth Arden Red Door Spas, now celebrating its 100th year anniversary.
Hagen has served in sales, marketing and executive management positions for a variety of upscale hotels and resorts including Hotel Bel Air, Los Angeles, CA; St. Regis Hotel & Spa, Los Angeles, CA; and the celebrity laden Sunset Marquis Hotel & Villas, West Hollywood, CA among others.
Hagen is known for orchestrating and managing many successful high end, global, attention-getting marketing campaigns, specializing in brand development. She served as Director North America for Steinway Lyngdorf, Inc., and was the creative consultant for the successful launch of Cornelia Day Resort on Fifth Avenue, in addition to her 20 years in the high end hospitality arena. Both clients received the coveted Robb Report’s Best of the Best Award during her tenure.
Hagen has managed numerous luxury programs for her clients with branding partners such as Netjets, Rolls Royce, Mikimoto, Chopard, Evian and others in the luxury retail business. During her foray in the luxury spa business with Cornelia Day Resort, she is credited with creating the first partnership with designer Valentino for their first ever off-runway fashion show in spa.
Hagen was the very first marketer to secure a global presence for a hotel property at the Cannes International Film Festival as early as 1988. Additionally, Hagen created the first VIP Lounge for the International Television (MIP and MIPCOM), and Music (MIDEM) events produced by the Reed Midem organization, also in Cannes, France, and continued to manage them for over 11 years. Twenty-two years later, it is still the most popular venue at these events.
In 2001, Hagen is credited with creating the World’s Most Expensive Christmas Tree for the first west coast St. Regis Hotel by engaging Van Cleef and Arpel to adorn a magnificent Nobel Fir with emeralds, rubies, diamonds, and sapphires and providing a diamond ring for the winner who guessed closest to the tree’s value (over six million dollars).
“Lisa’s proven success in brand building for the luxury beauty, retail and fashion industries is a perfect fit for our business," said Walter. “Her strong understanding of customer loyalty coupled with her creative expertise and out-of-the-box ideas in marketing, public relations and advertising adds just the right dimension to our marketing efforts as we take our brand global within the coming year.”
In her new role as Chief Marketing Officer at Red Door Spas, Hagen oversees all marketing, advertising, public relations, product and services development, corporate sales and the company’s online reputation as the business is poised to grow both domestically and internationally.
“I am thrilled with the opportunity to take a 100-year-old iconic brand and be charged with linking it to today’s modernity, in order to bring beauty, harmony, and well being to a broader based, multi-generational marketplace,” says Hagen.
Hagen graduated from Central University of Iowa where she studied communications, and also international business while studying abroad in both, Mexico and England. After residing on the west coast for more than 20 years, she has been living in New York City for the past five years.
