Conference 2004 Hosts Spa Person of the Year Award 2004 - The winner
is Linda-Ann Kahn, Owner of Beauty Kliniek Aromatherapy Day Spa and
Wellness Center
The
Spa Person of the Year Award was chosen through online votes at www.dayspaassociation.com.
This year’s Spa Person of the Year is Linda-Ann Kahn, Owner of
Beauty Kliniek Aromatherapy Day Spa and Wellness Center. She joins Catherine
Atzen of ATZEN®, Cheryl Sott of Aroma Works Software and Peggy Wynne
Borgman of Preston Wynne who won this award in 2001, 2002 and 2003 respectively.
Linda-Anne Kahn, Director and founder of Beauty Kliniek
Aromatherapy Day Spa and Wellness Center, the most complete Health and
Beauty and Wellness Center in Southern California. She is a Cidesco
Diplomate, a clinical aromatherapist, holds a certification as a Manual
Lymph Drainage therapist and ‘Lymphedema’ specialist from
the Dr Vodder School in Austria, the Foldi School in Germany, and from
Drs. Judith and John Casley-Smith in Australia.
She is totally committed to the Day Spa Industry and was
one of the country’s first day spas. A pioneer in the field she
began doing aromatherapy treatments, manual lymph drainage and hydrotherapy
when these modalities were virtually unknown in the United States. Linda-Anne
has had a long-standing philosophy of a holistic approach and has been
committed to health and well-being of the body, mind and spirit. The
spa has expanded 5 times over the years to become the 11,000 square
foot Day Spa & Wellness Center it is today.
Linda-Anne works with many cancer survivors, as well as
cancer patients and lectures to breast cancer support groups, American
Cancer Association and other organizations. Beauty Kliniek hosts cancer
survivor events at the spa for the Parish Foundation, a foundation that
supports cancer patients and siblings or children of cancer patients.
Linda-Anne still works at her spa treating clients and
lymphedema patients, as well as teaching aromatherapy at her training
center Avedana Holistic Training Institute and the Natural Healing Institute
in Encinitas.
The Day Spa Association chooses a “Spa Person of
the Month” 6 times a year – they are individuals who have
made a significant contribution to and have been influential in shaping
the day spa industry nationwide as well as in their own community. The
“Spa Person of the Year” Award is chosen during a major industry
event once a year from the pool of current and previous years’
Spa Persons of the Month.
The 2004 votes for this unique award were collected online
starting in late August at www.dayspaassociation.com - 4491 people cast
their votes, with Linda-Anne receiving 56.77% of the votes. Runner-up
was German Dulanto of Cossini Corporation. The award was presented to
Linda-Anne during Face & Body & Healthy Aging Conference in
San Francisco and presented to the industry at the Gala Reception on
Sunday Oct. 11. A short biography of the 9 candidates was posted on
a large attractive poster both, at the registration desk and at the
DSA booth. Ballots were included in every registration package as well
as on the registration tables. Attendees were invited to choose and
cast their votes at both locations.

chosen to present this award at Face & Body the second year in a

delighted to have this award as part of our conference and Gala Reception,
benefiting the Melanoma Research Foundation”.
Not only are the winners acknowledged by their peers and
prominently placed on www.dayspaassociation.com,
but they are awarded with a beautiful engraved Irish Crystal Hurricane
Lamp, imported from Ireland with a commemorative plaque naming the award.
