Industry Hills, Calif. (Sept. 7, 2006) – Maureen R. Vipperman has been named spa director for The Spa at Pacific Palms, the newest and perhaps most extravagant spa in the San Gabriel Valley and eastern Los Angeles County. She joins Pacific Palms Resort five months prior the spa’s scheduled opening of February 2007.

Vipperman will oversee day-to-day operations of the new facility, which is being constructed as part of a $17 million refurbishment project that also brings Elements Bar & Grill restaurant, a new golf pro shop and golf course landscape improvements. Her priorities include working with the design team; developing the spa fitness and recreation team; and creating the spa’s signature line of products and treatments.

In addition to Maureen’s business sense, her personalized approach to providing each guest a memorable experience will help us establish one of the most unique spas in the region.” said Scott Huntsman, general manager of Pacific Palms Resort.

Since 2004 Vipperman served as director of resort spa operations at The Spa at Laguna Cliffs Marriott Resort in Dana Point, Calif. She worked for five years as the director of resort spa operations at The Spa at The Inn at Bay Harbor, a Renaissance Resort in Bay Harbor, Mich. As a former U.S. Marine she directed fitness routines and testing.

Vipperman teaches spa hospitality management and operations at University of California, Irvine. She is a member of the International Spa Association, a Certified Spa Director and a Certified Spa Supervisor.
