Coll Named Executive Director of Rome Salon and Day Spa in Houston's West Ave
HOUSTON–
(May 7, 2009) – Rome Salon and Day Spa announces Zahira Coll as Executive
Director of the resort-like sanctuary set to open in Houston’s new urban
village, West Ave in October 2009. Unmatched in quality, Rome boasts a long list
of ritualistic treatments, superior service, a relaxation lounge, an art forum,
and a private VIP suite with a separate entry.

In her new position, Coll is responsible for
Rome’s concept development in addition to hiring training and directing the
spa team. She will oversee the achievement of excellence for clientele and branding
Rome Salon and Day Spa throughout the region.
Coll joins Rome
with years of experience as a Human Resource Executive, Executive Spa Director,
trainer, educator, speaker and business owner. Prior to joining Rome, she served
as Founder and Executive Officer of Resources & Development, Inc., a consulting
firm specializing in Spa and Hotel development. She also served as Spa Director
and Executive Resort Manager at Bacara Resort & Spa in Santa Barbara, CA and
as Executive Spa Director and Human Resources Director with The Ritz Carlton Hotel
Company LLC. In addition to these illustrious properties, Coll previously worked
for several esteemed resorts such as Pan Pacific Hotel & Resorts and Sonoma
Mission Inn & Spa.
Originally from Arecibo, Puerto Rico,
Coll received her bachelor degree in Business Administration from the University
of Puerto Rico. She continued to strengthen her knowledge and earned a masters
degree in Psychology Counseling from the Graduate School of Southern Puerto Rico.
In addition to her two degrees Coll continued her education in spa and beauty
disciplines with earning certificates and credits for make-up artistry, cosmetology
and business tactics such as the scientific behavioral interview analysis methodology
and personality profile methodology.
Coll is an active member
of Society for Human Resource Management, International Spa Association and Day
Spa Association. She is the author of Spa Ready-to-Use Business Tools ™,
was the creator and editor of the electronic newsletter, “Recent Developments”
and author of the “Spa Business Wisdom” and “Between the Sheets
- A Spa Director’s Diary” blogs.
Opening October
2009, Rome Salon and Day Spa promises to be Houston’s sophisticated beauty

Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday 10 am – 7 pm, Thursday and Friday 10 am –
