Cary Collier of Collier &
Collier/Blu Spas Inc. Creates a Dream . . . The Spa at Red Rock in Las
Vegas, Nevada
Las Vegas, NV May 10, 2006 - It is an atypical
situation to work on a dream project . . . one in which every piece
fits like a puzzle and flows beautifully down to the last detail; one
in which every member of the team is an asset and individual strengths
are fully utilized; one in which the dream becomes a true reality. And
The Spa at Red Rock is a dream.
Cary Collier, Co-Founder/Owner of Collier & Collier Spas and Principal
of Blu Spas Inc., began discussions on the spa planning for Red Rock
over three years ago and has enjoyed creating the dream for others to
experience starting April 18, 2006.
The Spa at Red Rock Las Vegas offers a sleek, ultra-modern
retreat that promotes health, relaxation and rejuvenation. Drenched
in rich shades of red, with accents of cream and chocolate brown earth
tones, the space envelops guests in a luxurious atmosphere and provides
them with a calming sense of privacy. Open to guests of the resort,
as well as day visitors, The Spa at Red Rock Las Vegas provides a unique
spa experience for visitors to Las Vegas, a growing spa destination.
Unlike most hotel/casino spas, The Spa at Red Rock Las Vegas is separate
from the casino and features direct access for those only visiting the
spa.
The 35,000 square-foot spa is located on the second floor
of the hotel tower and will open in two phases. In April, Phase I will
open with 25,000 square feet with multiple treatments in 20 rooms, including
two indoor/outdoor couples suites; an additional couple suite,
with a round bath for two; a comprehensive fitness center, with a boxing
ring and movement studio; and a full-service salon and a barber for
straight razor shaves. In addition to offering a vast array of traditional
and non-traditional spa treatments and services, The Spa at Red Rock
Las Vegas opens the experience to the outdoors by offering adventure
activities, ranging from rock climbing to white water rafting.
Colliers role in the project was to create the facility
and concept program with the architect and design firm Architropolis,
specifically exploring the concept, defining the type and flow of facilities,
and orchestrating the spa components to not only meet Station Casinos
high standards but exceed their expectations. The most important element
for Collier was to design a spa that will maximize its financial acumen.
Says Collier, Designing an extraordinary spa includes
understanding its financial capabilities on an operational and design
level. Thousands of details, including interior layouts, materials and
finishes, lighting, technical services, water elements, millwork and
equipment, are required for this quality of spa.
The Spa at Red Rock was a reunion with Architropolis from
the previous collaboration on the first Station Casinos Spa at
Green Valley Ranch. Collier
explains, Architropolis did sensational work at Green Valley Ranch,
and the Spa at Red Rock is simply stunning. I've worked on over 120
spas in 20 countries and the Spa at Red Rock is one of my favorites.
Station Casinos is one of those rare companies with the gift of getting
it right. Their magic starts at the top with owners Frank and Lorenzo,
and our early concept meetings with them established high expectations
for Red Rock, as they should have. The level of investment and competition
in Las Vegas demands evolving and sustainable innovation. We were also
fortunate to work with a talented spa director, Kristin Carpenter, who
was hired a year before opening. Kristin has high standards and was
a great asset to the project team.
Native Texan Cary Collier is currently co-owner of Blu
