Hotel Del Coronado to Unveil New
World-Class Spa
Coronado, CA-October 26, 2006-The legendary Hotel
del Coronado, located on 28 oceanfront acres, will unveil a spectacular
new Spa this December. In creating this world-class facility, designers
drew upon the resort's early roots. When it opened in 1888, The Del
was considered a premier vacation and health destination, where the
sea-swept air was both preservative and restorative. Although early
visitors certainly appreciated the therapeutic effects of saltwater
bathing and fresh sea air, these weren't the seashore's only allure.
Victorians were also drawn to the soul-satisfying aesthetics the seascape
provided. The Del's unparalleled oceanfront location gave early visitors
the chance to enjoy one of nature's most inherently beautiful landscapes:
sand, sun and sea.
A century later, the timeless Pacific tides and breezes
still have the power to restore the mind, body and spirit. Spa treatments
touch all the senses from the feeling of cool linen to the fresh sea
breezes and ocean air. The Spa offers a variety of health promoting
treatments including massages, wraps and facials.
Unique water therapy treatments such as the Ocean Massage
and the Sea Salt Scrub allow guests to experience traditional offerings
while submerged in special hydrotherapy pools. All natural body restoratives
include detoxifying exfoliation, masks and peels that replenish and
revitalize. For the ultimate pampering experience, special spa packages
are available for individuals, teens, couples, mothers and daughters,
fathers and sons, girlfriends and wedding parties.
The décor features calming tones with Victorian
accents. Bathed in natural light, the spacious Spa includes 21 treatment
rooms, sanctuary areas, hydrotherapy pools and steam rooms. A private
veranda and endless pool overlooking the magnificent Pacific offers
the ultimate therapeutic retreat.
A state-of-the-art fitness center adjacent to the Spa
will open in April 2007, offering personal training, weight and cardiovascular
equipment and a studio for aerobics, pin classes and Pilates. Yoga and
mediation on the beach will also be available.
