May 30, 2008 -- Unik Island Resort & Spa, a new luxury boutique brand in Mexico,
announces it will open its flagship hotel on November 1, 2008 on Isla Mujeres.
Just off the coast of Cancun, accessed by a 25-minute private yacht transfer,
the resort will feature 84 suites and full-service amenities.
Operated by the de la Peña family—long-time hoteliers
in the Riviera Maya region of Mexico—Unik Island Resort & Spa opens the
door to a level of service and accommodations that had yet to be reached in Isla

total of 84 suites, sleek and modern, will feature exquisite views and every amenity,
including flat screen televisions, CD/DVD players, iPod docking stations, high-speed

and much more. Every room, regardless of category, gets twice-daily maid service,
lavish bath amenities, candles, bathrobes and slippers, aromatherapy at turndown

Six restaurants
and bars will bring Mexican, Asian, and Continental cuisine to life: Pearl, a
contemporary dining experience; Breeze, just steps from the pool with a casual
setting open for lunch and dinner; Jade, for Pan Asian specialties; La Isla Grill
& Lounge, living up to its name for lunch time by the pool; the Turquoise
Lounge, the setting for high tea in the afternoon and cigars and drinks in the
evenings; and the Aqua Pool Bar, for swim up libations.
Beyond
the walls, the natural beauty of Isla Mujeres serves as a backdrop for the elegant
pool area, built on four different levels following the lay of the land. Each
pool
offers guests a different experience, and each flows into the next in
a soothing cascade of blue water. After a day of fun in the sun, therapists at
the Spa Izel soothe tired muscles and rejuvenate spirits with a mixture
of Mayan treatments and modern techniques.
Meetings and groups
are welcome to the state-of-the-art facilities, which can accommodate up to 210

The resort is located
eight miles north of Cancun across the Caribbean Sea on Isla Mujeres. Upon arrival
at the Cancun International Airport guests are whisked away via hotel-arranged
car service to the resorts Dockside Registration/Reception area, where they are
greeted with refreshing beverages and light appetizers before boarding the complimentary,
private boat service that will take them directly to the resorts pier in just
