Relaxed and stylishly elegant, the 25,000 square-foot oceanfront Spa Terranea is nestled in a secluded, unrivaled setting with sweeping views of the Pacific and Catalina Island. Designed by Bamo of San Francisco, the Spa embraces classic Mediterranean-style architecture in creating a distinctly California-style "sanctuary of the senses." Overlooking the Pacific, Spa Terranea offers 24 luxurious treatment rooms including hydrotherapy, massage, facial and couples rooms all located on the second level, accessed by a grand staircase with unobstructed ocean views. Separate indoor/outdoor lounge retreats for men and women include sauna, steam room, whirlpool and cold plunge. Co-ed relaxation lounges feature panoramic views of the Pacific. Lush, outdoor garden settings include lounge seating and cozy fire pits. Romantic and luxurious Couples Suites are complete with fireplace, copper soaking tub, Swiss shower and infra-red sauna.

Spa Activities Terranea's 5,000 square-foot, full-service Fitness & Wellness Center features a full line of cardiovascular and strength equipment, a movement studio and an outdoor yoga terrace.

Spa cabanas and spectacular ocean views from a variety of sweeping terraces create intimate seating areas around the spa’s lap pool.

The intimate Spa Café offers a wide variety of delicious, freshly prepared natural food, juices and other drinks. Dishes are prepared with minimal intervention, thereby focusing the flavors on the combinations of the ingredients.

In the morning while rested and energized, guests are invited to participate in a brisk walk along the peninsula, inhaling the therapeutic salt air while the breezes stimulate mind and spirit. When the day is young and full of promise, treatments and activities correspond to our ‘active, energetic nature’. In the afternoon and evening, treatments and activities become less energetic, more calming and contemplative in nature.

BASALT ROCK AND GEMSTONE - Inspired by a nearby beach cave where crystal quartz was once mined, this penetrating, yet subtle therapy uncovers the inner jewel within all of us. Powerful and potent, Crystal Quartz harmonizes water crystals thus enhancing the quality and efficacy of hydrotherapy treatments.

EL SEGUNDO BLUE – A sedating, warm cocoon of algae, marine clay and essential oils provides rest and renewal and the promise of a soulful transformation.

FLICKERING EMBERS - Restful and calming, this treatment pays homage to the diminishing daylight, the emerging evening and the promise of everlasting renewal.
