Russian River Valley, Calif. (11/17/09)- Farmhouse Inn, Restaurant & Spa, the inspired wine country retreat located in the heart of Sonoma County’s world-famous Russian River Valley region, will unveil a brand new farm-to-treatment spa in January 2010. Conceived as a natural extension to the farm-inspired experience that defines Farmhouse, the full service spa will source ingredients grown at its own ranch and gardens, and a copper still will be used by therapists and guests alike to extract essential oils and waters. The Spa at Farmhouse is a partnership between Farmhouse and legendary spa consultants Francis & Alexander.

Peggy Francis & Loma Alexander (Francis & Alexander) have consulted, operated and helped design some of the world’s most prestigious spas including The Spa at Auberge du Soleil, Solage Calistoga, 29 Spa at The Mansion on Peachtree and The Spa at Palmetto Bluff. Gracious service from the heart and exclusive treatments utilizing produce harvested and distilled on site will be cornerstones of the Spa at Farmhouse by Francis & Alexander. Guests will be invited to participate in the distilling process and learn how to re-create the experience at home.

Spring Forest Honey and heirloom cider apples from the Bartolomei Ranch (owned by the proprietors) and herbs grown in Farmhouse’s kitchen garden are examples of the ingredients that will be incorporated into the farm to treatment menu of spa services. These will include massage, body wraps, skincare and specialty baths. Organic grape seeds will be used for skin therapies to further the wine country experience. Life Enrichment programs on health, beauty and stress reduction will be offered. Romantic couples treatments will be offered year round in the spa or in the comfort of the spacious Barn guest suites.

Located in the Carriage House and newly redesigned by Healdsburg’s Myra Hoefer Design, the four room Spa at Farmhouse by Francis & Alexander will be characterized by bold architectural accents, richly textured hand-woven fabrics, and simple, elegant furnishings that seamlessly blend clean contemporary lines with antique motifs and the rustic outdoors. Private patios overlooking the pool and gardens give the spa a true sense of place. State-of-the-art spa equipment will be used to ensure the best experience for every guest.

The Spa at Farmhouse by Francis & Alexander will be open seven days a week, exclusively for Farmhouse guests.
