One-of-a-Kind Spa and Well-Being Amenities Aboard New Seabourn Quest
MIAMI, April 13, 2011 --- From exclusive skin care products to therapeutic massage treatments, the new Seabourn Quest, which is scheduled to debut June 20, 2011, will feature a number of unique spa amenities and healthy offerings.
The expansive Spa at Seabourn on Quest, encompassing two decks, will feature a full-service salon and a thermal suite with eight heated loungers, cocooning recliners, an aroma steam bath with salt inhalation and a unisex herbal bath. There are two types of saunas in the spa, including a Bio sauna in the women's changing area and a traditional Finnish sauna in the men's area. On the top deck, guests will discover an outdoor, cabana-style relaxation area, furnished with lounge chairs and sofas in warm and soothing tones.
Available only on Seabourn ships, the Spa at Seabourn will offer Thai massages, a specialized discipline that relaxes and heals the body by combining gentle compression and yoga-like stretches. Thai massages also help to adjust the skeletal structure, increase flexibility, relieve muscular and joint tension and stimulate the functioning of internal organs. The treatments are available in 75-minute sessions conducted in a private area of the fitness center.
The Spa at Seabourn is also the only seagoing spa licensed to offer SkinCeuticals skin care products. Seabourn's specialists are specially trained and authorized to administer the award-winning skin care line of scientifically-backed products, serums and treatments for every skin concern. In addition to the SkinCeuticals skin care line, the spa will also offer high-end Elemis products.
"The Spa at Seabourn on Quest is a beautiful and technologically-advanced facility designed to offer our guests the most advanced spa experiences at sea," said Richard D. Meadows, Seabourn's president. "Our spa offers several unique and exclusive amenities that guests can enjoy only when they sail with Seabourn."
Other innovative and healthy options available in the 11,400-square-foot spa include a Kneipp Walk pool, which provides holistic, water therapy treatment designed to enhance circulation. The Kneipp therapy involves guests walking slowly through a shallow circular basin separated into areas of cold and warm water, thus stimulating capillary circulation, aiding metabolism and soothing pain.
Guests can indulge in a collection of treatments gleaned from ten Eastern cultures, from Chinese reflexology to aromatherapy. There are six treatment rooms, as well as a canopied Spa Villa which can be reserved. This private sanctuary features a treatment area large enough for duet treatments, complete with shower; a bathtub big enough for two; a private balcony for sunbathing; a full living room area; a double daybed and dining area where guests can enjoy healthy snacks.
The fitness center will feature high-tech exercise, cardio and strength equipment; a motion studio with the latest version of the Kinesis System; and a variety of fitness classes, including yoga, Pilates and tai chi. Personal trainers will also be available to develop customized workout regimes for guests.
Seabourn Quest is the third iteration of the sleek and widely admired design that first appeared as Seabourn Odyssey in June 2009, and has been hailed as "a game-changer for the luxury segment." The second sister ship, Seabourn Sojourn, entered service in June of 2010.
Seabourn Quest's maiden season includes seven-day Eastern Mediterranean cruises, operating alternately between Athens and Istanbul, and Venice and Athens, as well as a seven-day Black Sea voyage. On January 5, 2012, Seabourn Quest begins a 109-day World Cruise from Ft. Lauderdale to Venice on a unique eastbound course via South America, South Africa, the Indian Ocean, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and the Mediterranean.
