Based on 100% Organic Olive Oil from BioBeauté International and Laboratoires
Dauget, St. Rémy de Provence
The
Dauget Story - Beauty comes from the South of France
It
was at an exposition organized by the Museum of Olive Oil in Nyons, France, in
1995, that Pierre DAUGET, a biochemist from Marseille, was reminded of the precious
benefits of olive oil for the skin, most notably its anti-aging properties. Pierre
DAUGET decided to dedicate himself to this vitamin-rich fruit of the sun, and
installed himself in a small building in St. Rémy-de-Provence to create
olive oil-based skincare. There began the story of les Laboratoires Dauget. Constantly
mindful of quality and purity, Pierre DAUGET carefully selected only organic olives
originating from the Provence region. He took great care in the excellence of
his formulas by using strictly natural active components, and by employing the
competence of a galenical pharmacist. After 18 months of research and numerous
trials, Pierre DAUGET launched his first line of olive oil-based products in October
1996. Immediate success followed due to the outstanding quality of the products
and the power of "word of mouth". Pierre DAUGET then
crossed paths with Ariane-Sigrid DOUTRELEAU, a native of the region. Born in Avignon,
Ms. DOUTRELEAU is a true "provençal" woman who grew up in St.
Rémy-de-Provence, at the foothills of the Alpilles in the valley of les
Baux, celebrated for its magnificent olive trees. After years of professional
experience in the cosmetic industry at L'Oréal, Ariane-Sigrid DOUTRELEAU
wanted to renew her provençal roots. Her passion for the authenticity of
natural products only intensified her appreciation for the remarkable properties
of olive oil, which was yet to be fully exploited in cosmetics. Determined to
further develop this concept, Ariane-Sigrid DOUTRELEAU bought Laboratoires Dauget
in May 2000. And thus, olive oil found its beauty ambassador and above all, the
means to express its truly outstanding qualities. The Beneficial
Effects of Olive Oil in Cosmetics Olive oil in ancient
times
The use of olive oil in skin care dates back to ancient times.
Cleopatra was known to take baths in olive oil. The Greeks and the Romans slathered
their bodies with olive oil after the bath to hydrate their skin against the acidity
of water. Olive oil was also used for hair treatment. Olive
oil's unique properties: -
" A pure fruit
extract, an elixir of youth, a fruit juice! In fact, olive oil is the only oil
made from a fruit. All other oils are made from grains or seeds of fruit, but
not from the fruit itself. -
Rich in vitamins
A & E, an important antioxidant that neutralizes free radicals in the body.
-
Rich in chlorophyll, the most natural anti-aging
substance, with notable nutritional and medicinal qualities known to stimulate
wound healing and cell renewal. -
Rich in
squalene, a natural organic compound and a rich emollient that penetrates extremely
well into the skin. Squalene is usually found in the liver of cartilaginous fishes
such as sharks. Olive is the only fruit that contains squalene. -
Helps to regulate the secretion of sebum, which lubricates the
skin and hair. A Complete

Characteristics
of the olive oil used by Laboratoires Dauget A pure extract for radiant healthy
skin -
Laboratoires Dauget uses only first
cold-pressed 100% organic olive oil (this rigorous process allows the oil to preserve
all its intrinsic qualities). -
Laboratoires
Dauget maintains its own olive grove, where traditional harvesting rituals are
practiced with an unrelenting concern for quality. The organically grown olives
are handpicked one by one, in order to preserve all the nutritional benefits of
this vitamin-rich fruit. It takes seven kilos of olives to make one liter of oil.
-
Laboratoires Dauget uses oil from the pulp of
the olives that have been in direct contact with the sun, allowing the fruit to
build up high concentrations of chlorophyll---an important factor in cell growth
and renewal. Did
you know? -
The olive is a winter fruit.
-
It takes about 20 flowers to form one olive.
-
An olive contains 15 to 25% of oil. -
The olive harvest in the south of France is called "Olivade"
and olives are harvested from October to February by "Oliveuses" (olive
pickers). -
In Provence, the ritual of Olivade
today is no different from that practiced at the beginning of the century due
to the commitment of olive associations that demand excellence in their produce.
-
The handpicking of olives one by one is considered
ideal, for it respects the integrity and purity of the olive. -
Olive oil is the only oil that does not foam. Consequently,
you can test the authenticity of olive oil by shaking it. If it foams, it means
that it has been mixed with another type of oil. 86
