Spa Treatments and Programs: The
spa offers a mix of therapies, from hydro- and heat-based treatments to
ice fountains for skin toning and tightening. Massage and other therapies
are based on Chinese, European, Mediterranean, Indian, Arabian and Thai
traditions and are tailored to address each guests needs. A highlight
of the Mandarin Oriental Spa experience is the Time RitualTM,
for which guests book an allotment of time rather than a specific treatment.
Intended to restore the bodys natural state of equilibrium, the
experience shifts the emphasis to a personalised assessment of the guests
needs on that given day, ensuring the ultimate treatment for body, mind
and spirit. Other original offerings include the Tokyo unique Adzuki Ritual,
Absolute Pearl body wrap, Oriental Harmony, featuring Mandarin Orientals
own frangipani and jasmine infused signature body oil and salt scrub,
and the indulgent Taste of Traditions, developed in conjunction
with Comfort Zone, which fuse therapeutic elements from the Orient, Mediterranean,
India and Arabia.
Spa Facilities: The Spa is located
on the top two floors (37th and 38th) of the new Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo.
Facilities include 9,500 square feet in total, incorporating 1,500 square
feet for the Fitness Centre and 3,000 square feet for the Heat and Water
Experiences. There are 9 treatment rooms; 4 multi-purpose rooms and 5
luxurious private Spa suites. There is a high-tech gymnasium on the 38th
floor, with latest cardiovascular and weight training equipment, including
treadmills, crosstrainers, cardio bikes, weight machines, free weights
and peak pilates. Separate his and hers spa areas
each include a comprehensive heat experience to relieve stress, release
muscle tension, increase blood circulation and promote well being. This
includes: Vitality Pools with soothing body jets, Water Lounges, Dry Sauna
for deep cleansing and circulation, Crystal Steam Room to cleanse and
detoxify with aromatherapy, Ice Fountain - arctic refresher after the
use of the heat experiences which aids skin toning and stimulates the
immune system. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental, Tokyo is the first in the
city to offer its facilities to local residents as well as in-house guests
at no extra charge, thus fulfilling the true role of a day spa.
