For over a decade, Julie Register has provided a comprehensive directory of spas around the world on the Internet. DiscoverSpas.com currently provides information on over 10,000 spas in The Spa Register®, an index of US and Global spas. The name, city and type of each spa is listed on the appropriate state/province/country directory, and the name of the spa is linked to the spa's individual listing page. Spas have three listing page options to present themselves to the viewers of DiscoverSpa.com - Free, Basic and Enhanced. Here is an overivew of the attributes and benefits of each type of listing.

*For spas in the US, the listing appears in the appropriate state directory. For spas in Canada, the listing appears in the appropriate province directory. For all other countries, the listing appears in the appropriate country directory.

Spas that buy $500 or more of DiscoverSpas.com advertisements per year automatically receive an Enhanced Listing.

Enhanced Listings

DiscoverSpas.com offers spas the opportunity to provided detailed information about their philosophy, services and facilities to the viewers of DiscoverSpas.com. An Enhanced Listing provides the spa's contact information, can include up to 12 images of the spa, up to 2 links, up to 4 phone numbers, a link to a map of the spa's location, a comprehensive description of the spa and it's offerings, and the ability to place up to four deals in the DiscoverSpas.com Spa Deals section per year. The new Enhanced Listing format is described below:

Format: Enhanced Listings offer detailed information about a spa:

Name - the name of the spa
Address - Street, City, State/Province, Country, Zip Code
Map Location - a link to the spa's location on a map either on the spa's web site, Mapquest or Google Maps.
Web Site - a link to the spa's web site
Additional Link - a link to an alternate URL such as a spa special page or a hotel web site
Phone Number - direct, toll-free, reservations, information, hotel, etc. (4 maximum)
Spa Type - select all that apply from Day, Destination, Resort, Hotel, Inn, B&B, Club, Esthetic (formerly listed as Medical), Retreat, Mobile or Springs Spa
Description - a short paragraph (max 750 characters including spaces and punctuation) describing the spa's mission/vision/values, what makes the spa unique, awards it has won, its history, etc.
Treatments & Programs - A list of the services the spa offers in the following format: Massage (Swedish, Aromatherapy, Deep tissue, Neuromuscular, Shiatsu, Reflexology), Body Wraps (Seaweed Body Contour, Detoxifying Body, Contouring Mud), Salt Glow, Body Gommage, Facials (Petit, Grand, Fresh Fruit, Gentleman's), Hair Removal, Make-Up, Nail Services (Manicure, Signature Manicure, French Manicure, Pedicure, Signature Pedicure, French Pedicure, Change of Polish, French change of polish, Paraffin), Salon Services, etc. Do not include detailed descriptions. Do not include prices. Try to keep it undr 1000 characters.
Romantic Treatments & Programs - Treatments provided for Couples such as Couples Massage, Romance Package for Two, Yoga for Two, Honeymoon Spa Packages, etc. Detailed descriptions are preferred. Do not include prices or limited time offers.
Maternity Treatments & Programs - Treatments provided for women who are pregnant or just after childbirth such as Example - Maternity Massage, Pre-natal Massage, Post-Natal Massage, etc. Detailed descriptions are preferred. Do not include prices or limited time offers.
Weight Management Treatments & Programs - These are comprehensive programs to help clients manage their weight that include nutrition and fitness elements as well as spa treatments. Do not include stand-alone cellulite treatments or reducing body wraps. Detailed descriptions are preferred. Do not include prices or limited time offers.
Spa Facilities - Include a detailed description of the spa facility including decor, total square feet, number and types of treatment rooms, relaxation lounges, changing rooms, wet areas, juice bar, etc. Example - Separate men's and women's locker rooms (each with full-length lockers, sauna, steam room, showers and private dressing rooms), a co-ed waiting area, five massage treatment rooms (1 wet room, 2 massage treatment rooms and 2 facial treatment rooms), wet area with lap pool and whirlpool, fitness center with Cybex strength training machines, free weights from 3-65 pounds and Precor treadmills, ellipticals, and bikes.
Other Facilities - Include other facilities offered on the property. For a resort, this could include the number of guest rooms and suites, golf course, tennis courts, swimming pools, conference facilities, etc.
Eco-Friendly Practices - Include efforts the spa has made to make the environment healthier such as recycling, environmentally friendly vendor selections, green building, alternative power use, water conservation, etc.

Typically, there is a 1-2 week turnaround for the Enhanced Listing to go live on DiscoverSpas.com. DiscoverSpas.com will send an email to the person requesting the Enhanced Listing acknowledging the receipt of listing information, receipt of payment and notification of when the listing goes live.

How do I make updates / changes to my spa's Enhanced Listing? DiscoverSpas.com wants to provide current information about the spas it lists. Timely notification of updates / changes to spa listing information is greatly appreciated. Updates are given priority and are moved to the top of the Enhanced Listing "to-do" list. A Basic Listing provides the spa's contact information, one photo of the spa, a link to the spa's web site, a map of the spa's location, up to 2 phone numbers, and a short description of the spa and it's offerings. The Basic Listing format is described below:

After February 29, 2008, the format for Free Listings will change and will only provide the spa's name, address, phone number and spa type. The new format is described below:
