Nestled at the foot of dramatic red sandstone cliffs adjacent to the 10,000-foot peak of Pine Valley Mountain, the resort is near the entrance to the beautiful Snow Canyon State Park and approximately ten minutes from St. George Airport. The award-winning Red Mountain Spa has long inspired visitors with its health and wellness programs, diverse adventure offerings and exceptional treatments and services. An extensive multi-million enhancement program, complete in January 2006, brings a new level of luxury to Red Mountain Spa. Opened in 1983 and extensively renovated in 1999 with current renovations complete in January 2006, Red Mountain is located on 55 scenic acres in Southwestern Utah, a short two-hour drive northeast of Las Vegas.

SPA FACILITIES

Created by Judith Testani of Testani Design Group, Sagestone, Red Mountain's new spa facility, debuted in January 2006. It is located within a unique geodesic dome, featuring chocolate, lime and turquoise hues in a relaxing contemporary design. The facility is juxtaposed against the red rock canyons and spires, lava bed gardens, sand dunes and lush desert flora of St. George, Utah. Guests check in via the top floor, which also houses the full-service salon. Surrounded by breathtaking vistas, the second floor consists of a relaxation area as well as men's and women's locker rooms with steam. Finally, the ground floor offers fourteen treatment rooms, including two wet rooms, one multi-purpose room, two facial rooms, eight massage rooms and one couple's massage room. There are also two outdoor cabanas.

OTHER FACILITIES

The exterior of the buildings comprising Red Mountain Spa are painted a terra cotta color to blend with the surrounding vibrant mountains. Indigenous plants highlight the rolling landscape and pathways linking the buildings. In addition to Sagestone Spa and Salon, the resort features 82 newly renovated stylish guest rooms as well as 24 two-bedroom luxury Villas in a total of eleven buildings; a Fitness Center, where classes and health and nutrition consultations are conducted; an outdoor recreation center; and the Training Center, where guests workout on Cybex strength equipment, cardio machines and free weights. The building which houses Canyon Breeze Restaurant and Canyon Cafe, where all meals are served and culinary classes are held, also houses the Red Mountain Conference Center on the second floor. A large gazebo is situated north of the Canyon Breeze complex, and serves as a meeting place for the daily hikes, outdoor classes and lectures, as well as utilized for unique meeting space and outdoor receptions and banquets.

Sagestone Signature Treatments are inspired by health, wellness, and beauty rituals that are practiced in the diverse cultures of the world, crafted with desert botanicals, mineral rich muds, clays and salts, handcrafted essential oils, rich body butters, lotions and balms and other indigenous ingredients. The treatments feature products ranging from the rain forests of Brazil, the use of which serves to prevent deforestation and preserve biodiversity to salt and clay from the state of Utah and the precious Resurrection Plant found in the Arizona desert.

12-17-08: New Indigenous Treatments Call the Wild at Red Mountain Spa

Guests at Red Mountain may participate in any of the resort’s substantial menu of activities, including outdoor adventure, fitness and mind/body. Guests choose their own adventure, choosing as little or as much activity as they desire.

Outdoor Programs
Red Mountain offers the largest variety of popular and innovative multi-level outdoor adventure programs, including daily guided hikes, rock climbing, kayaking, guided cycling, horseback riding, orienteering, geology and archeology walks, star-gazing, Tai Chi on the Rocks, National Park excursions, backcountry wilderness trips, private guide for hire and custom group trips.

Fitness Programs
Over 50 fitness classes are offered each week at Red Mountain, including a variety of cardiovascular workouts, such as Cardio Core Reebok Board®, Cardio Salsa and Cross-Training Cardio classesand hydro/aqua fit classes; muscle-conditioning workouts, including Strength Circuit, Yoga and Power Pilates® and flexibility classes, including Morning Stretch, Yoga and Total Stretch. New activities are constantly being introduced. Several recent additions include TRX ™ Core Conditioning, Boot Camp, Tai Chi on the Rocks, Qi Gong, Balletone®, Nia, Drums Alive, BOSU and Kundalini & Iyengar Yoga.

Healthy Living Classes & Activities
In addition to outdoor and fitness activities, Red Mountain offers inner journeys such as educational, wellness and mind/body classes, spirit hikes, geology walks, breath, meditation, nutrition classes, self-awareness workshops, daily cooking classes and a variety of art and creative expression classes. Red Mountain also features three swimming pools, one indoor and two seasonal outdoor. Guests at Red Mountain may play golf at any of the 15 nearby courses.
