Description: The Meritage Resort at Napa opened in July 2006. From the complimentary bottle of wine at check-in, to gourmet cuisine at the on-site Siena restaurant, to luxurious, Tuscan-inspired guest rooms and suites, The Meritage Resort exudes elegance. Forty feet below the iconic grape crusher statue that graces its southern end, a luxury retreat nestled nel cuore della terra (literally, "in the heart of the earth,") - the first spa in the world to be developed entirely underground. Located in the eastern wing of the Resort's Estate Cave, the 9,000 square foot, $7.5 million project is an underground oasis, featuring steam grottos, soaking pools, water walls, and lavishly appointed private treatment rooms for individuals and couples.

Romantic Treatments & Programs: For Couples & Significant Others: Seduzione - Seduction side by side in the Positano room begins with a gentle Exfoliation and a mineral rich Cave Clay Mud application to draw impurities from the system, soothe muscles and nourish the skin. While the body is cocooned, a Scalp and Foot Massage encourages deep relaxation. After a jet water rinse, a detoxifying oil of juniper and grapefruit is gently massaged into the skin. 65 minutes – glass of wine included. Baci - Starts by kissing the body with an Orange Polish followed by a lusciously hydrating aromatic Honey Wrap. Continue with a Spa Lunch, a glass of Wine and a Terra Massage. Baci chocolates end this retreat done side by side in the Positano room. 2 hours. Passione - Passion inspired by the noble Cabernet Sauvignon Grape and Passion Fruit Blend, this therapy starts with an Exfoliating cleanse, followed by a fragrant Tea Soak in our Portofino room. Next, an intensely hydrating Body Butter Wrap quenches the skin and a 25 minute Terra Massage finishes this indulgent retreat along with Sparkling Wine and Spa Lunch. 2 hours. Amore - A Couple’s Retreat in the Portofino room featuring a Bubble Soak treatment followed by a Candlelight Couples Massage with Loving Aromatherapy Oil. The retreat continues with a Spa Lunch and Sparkling Wine, Uomo e Donna facials and a Terra Manicure and Pedicure. Basket of spa goods and treats included. Half day retreat.

Maternity Treatments & Programs: Mammina Massage - For the expecting Mom, the Pregnancy Massage offers soothing, pampering care to the back, legs and body with a therapeutic touch that relieves stress and lower back tension, and restores lightness to legs and feet.

Spa Terra's sumptuous decor reflects the Mediterranean theme of the Resort, replete with hand-wrought fixtures and extensive custom tile work. Water elements, heated tiles and vaulted ceilings are complimented by thoughtfully selected materials, and an earth-toned palate and the incorporation of many natural elements offers both a subtle reminder of the unique location and a nod to the rich heritage of the spa tradition. There are 10 private, individually temperature controlled treatment rooms — Separate mens/womens steam saunas and soaking pools with water walls — Welcoming relaxation room with water feature.
