Description: Sturebadets goal is to offer our members and guests renewed vitality through exercise, relaxation, spa treatments and nutritional counseling. Professor and Medical Doctor Professor Carl Curman built the original Sturebadet as a communal bathhouse in 1885 and is credited with introducing bathing to Stockholm. It the oldest spa in Sweden. The original building burnt to the ground in 1985. Using the original drawings and pictures of the interiors from the Stockholm City Museum, craftsmen, architects and county antiquarians restored Sturebadet, and it opened as a modern Day Spa with Conference facilities in 1989. Dr. Curman's basic philosophy was that people should possess health and well being in mind & body, as well as in spirit. Sturebadet continues to offer guests traditional treatments as well as embrace the new, enabling Dr Curman's spirit to live on!

Treatments & Programs: More than 50 Spa services, including massage, bath cures, and facials. Under the guidance of a personal dietician, a diet plan can be specifically tailored for you. Spa Facilities: The Sturebadet Spa is on seven floors. The top two house the private Conference and Turkish bath facilities. On the sixth floor is a neo-classical roman/Turkish bathhouse, with Finnish Sauna and Steam room, and plunge pool. The middle two floors house the modern spa. The pool, for relaxation swimming and water aerobics is on the fourth floor with a gallery. Cabins surround the pool on all sides, housing treatment facilities, sunbeds, and on-site administration. An exercise studio with CYBEX equipment is off the main area. The fifth floor gallery has a café/restaurant at one end with marble topped tables and small Chippendale-style seating for 52 people. On either side of the gallery are workout machines overlooking the pool, bicycles, rowing machines and treadmills. An aerobics studio is located off the left side gallery.
