Baccarat AsiaSpa Awards 2006 - the
results
Presented at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong
Hong Kong: 17th November 2006: The much-anticipated results
of the Baccarat AsiaSpa Awards 2006 were announced tonight, at a glittering
black and red-themed cocktail evening at the Grand Hyatt Hong Kong,
and sponsored by Baccarat and Cointreau. Over 180 spa industry VIPs,
nominated spa representatives and personalities attended, making it
one of the biggest spa parties of the year.
It was an even sweep for most of Asia's spa destinations,
with India, Thailand, Indonesia, The Philippines, The Maldives, Thailand,
China, Malaysia and Hong Kong all winning awards.
The Farm at San Benito came out on top, going home
with the coveted Medi-Spa of the Year as well as Spa Cuisine of the
Year, adding to their awards from 2006. In other categories the big
brands did well, with Four Seasons Resorts and Spas winning Exterior
Design of the Year for their resort in Langkawi and Marketing of the
Year, while Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts collected Spa Treatment
of the Year for their Himalayan Healing Stone Massage and Interior Design
of the Year at the Shangri-La Pudong, China. Some surprises included
Day Spa of the Year going to Kirana Spa in Bali and Spa Capital
of the year moving from Bali to the Maldives.
A panel of 26 Asia-based spa experts nominated the spas
and resorts for the Baccarat AsiaSpa Awards, which were announced in
the November/December 2006 issue of AsiaSpa.
During the ceremony the CEO of publishing company Adkom,
Olivier Burlot, announced the upcoming 2007 launches of AsiaSpa Japan
and AsiaSpa China, heralding a huge expansion for the AsiaSpa brand,
and resulting in the biggest network of spa magazines in Asia.
